Management and Staff of the Right to Information Commission (RTIC) on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, participated in a one-day Internal Audit Training Workshop on ๐†๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐ฎ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐œ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐€๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ž๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐–๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  at the Commissionโ€™s Head Office in Dzorwulu, Accra.

The workshop brought together Management and Staff of the Commission, including officers who joined virtually from the RTICโ€™s Regional Offices across the country.

Delivering the opening remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Right to Information Commission, ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž ๐’๐ก๐ข๐ซ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฒ ๐‹๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ž๐ฒ ๐„๐ฌ๐ช., warmly welcomed participants and underscored the importance of the training in strengthening accountability, compliance, and institutional effectiveness.

She encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions and leverage the knowledge and skills acquired to enhance their professional responsibilities and contribute to the Commissionโ€™s mandate.

The training was facilitated by ๐Œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐๐š๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ค ๐๐ž๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ฒ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ค ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ค๐จ , who provided practical insights into public sector auditing procedures, risk management, internal controls, and effective report writing. The workshop sought to enhance participantsโ€™ understanding of audit processes, strengthen internal control systems, and promote operational efficiency within the Commission.

Through interactive presentations, discussions, and practical engagements, participants gained valuable insights into the role of internal auditors within the public sector and explored best practices for conducting audits and preparing comprehensive audit reports.

In his closing remarks, the Head of Legal, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐Ž๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ, ๐„๐ฌ๐ช., expressed the Commissionโ€™s appreciation to the facilitators for their insightful presentations and commended participants for their active participation and commitment throughout the workshop. He noted that the knowledge and skills acquired would contribute significantly to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance within the Commission.

The workshop forms part of the Commissionโ€™s continuous efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, improve operational effectiveness, and uphold the highest standards of accountability and good governance in the discharge of its mandate.
