RIGHT TO INFORMATION COMMISSION LAUNCHES 5TH ANNIVERSARY OF PROMOTING TRANSPARENCY
On Tuesday 19th August ,2025 the Right to Information Commission (RTIC) officially launched its 5th Anniversary celebrations alongside the annual RTI Month at a press briefing held at the RTIC Head Office, Dzorwulu.
The event was chaired by the Executive Secretary, ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ , Esq. This yearโs celebration is themed: โ๐ฅ๐ง๐๐ @๐ฑ: ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐ง๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ.โ
In her remarks, Ms. Lartey emphasized that the 5th Anniversary is not merely a celebration, but also a call to action. She urged the Commission and Stakeholders to reflect on progress made over the past five years, recognize the challenges that remain, and renew their shared responsibility in advancing transparency and accountability in Ghana.
The Executive Secretary also outlined a series of activities planned to mark the milestone, including;
โข Media and Civic engagements
โข A Stakeholdersโ Conference
โข Team bonding programmes and
โข Thanksgiving Service.
She further indicated that the Commission will join the International community in commemorating the ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐๐๐จ๐๐), later this year. Members of the press present were also given the opportunity to ask questions.
In attendance were Mrs. Elizabeth Asare, (Deputy Board Chair) Nana Kwame Duah and Mrs. Victoria Susuawu, (Board Members) as well as Management and Staff of the Commission.
